Alva’s History

Growing up in rural Western North Carolina, I was exposed to all kinds of different pets (rabbits, Guinea pigs, fish, dogs, cats, lizards, snakes, spiders, hamsters, and even a south American possum named Shirley). Among all of these my favorite is the dog. I am of Scotts Irish decent where my family was the keeper of the Kings hounds. So it is definitely in my blood to love dogs as much as I do.

I love all breeds of of dogs, but my favorite is the miniature schnauzer. I have had this breed for almost fifty years. I have Also been active in schnauzer rescue for twenty five years. I have rescued, fostered and placed numerous schnauzer’s and currently have five of my own, four of which are rescues.
